Wa Municipal Assembly

VRA/Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO) went all out on the 18th of April 2023 to disconnect Businesses from the National GRID for owing the company some amount of Money.

Some Institutions including the Wa High Court, the Wa Nursing Training College and Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University have been disconnected from the GRID for owing Ghc15,000, Ghc26,000 and Ghc2.2 million Respectively.

The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies also Owes Ghc8.8 million but due to the intervention of Ministry of Education, they are to pay Ghc145,000.

The Wa Naa’s Palace According to the Upper West Area Manager, Mr. Owes Ghc61,000 for over 2 years and in his explanation, he indicated that the Bills should be payed by the Wa Municipal Assembly not the Waala Royal Household.

“Wa Naa’s Palace Owes Ghc61,000 and per directive the District Assembly should make payment to that effect but per our records for close to two years no payments have been made..”.
