Upper West Regional Capital, Wa

A Social Activist and Culture Promoter by name Joseph Ziem has outlined reasons why a Television station is yet to be established in the Upper West Region.

He explained that there are some Group of people working against plans to establish the visual media station.

Statement

Proud Dagara I Come in Peace

Nandom, Nadowli, Daffiama, Jirapa, Kaleo, Lawra

Why don’t the natives of these towns see themselves as the same as others from the neighbouring towns?

Why can’t a Dagao in Daffiama see himself as the same as another Dagao from Jirapa or Nandom?

Apart from our dialectical differences, aren’t our way of lives the same? Have we not been intermarrying, schooling together, etc all these years?

Where from the hate towards one another?

Where from the envy towards our sister Hellen who has plans to establish a television station where she comes from? if you don’t have any form of support for her, don’t say anything that would demoralize her. If you don’t understand what she’s doing with Dagara Culture Connect, simply ask for explanation. While she plans to establish a TV station in Nandom, it doesn’t really stop.

anything that would demoralize her. If you don’t understand what she’s doing with Dagara Culture Connect, Simply ask for explanation. While she plans to establish a TV station in Nandom, it doesn’t really stop anyone from also establishing another TV station in any part of Dagaabaland. Every media house have their philosophy. They may broadcast in the same language but the ideology will never be same. And so we can even have 100 TV stations in the entire Dagaabaland in Ghana and there’s nothing wrong

Therefore, let’s love one another. Let’s unite for the common good of all Dagara in Ghana, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. A population of about 1.5-2 million, we can achieve a lot when we come together as Dagara and not as Jirapa, Kaleo, Nadowli, Daffiama, Lawra or Nandom native. Lets look beyond the imaginary boundaries between us. I’m even looking for senme in every town.
