Wa Naa Momori II

16th January 2023 marked the 25th Anniversary of the death of the Late Alhaji Wa Naa Momori Bondiri ll.

The Second Paramount Chief of Waala Kingdom in the 90’s. He Passed on in 1998 after a short Illness.

The Waala Traditional Area is composed of indegines from Mamprugu Traditional Area in the North East Region. People of Wa Celebrate Dumba Festival to Mark an Annual Anniversary and Survival of the Chief of the Area.

During the Festival, the Chief has to Jump over a live cow as part of Traditional demands of the Chief. If the Chief fails in the process it spells calamity for the Royal setting.

Chiefs of Wa from 1887 Include Wa Naa Sultan Widaana, Wa Naa Momori, Bondiri ll, Wa Naa Yakubu Soalia III, Wa Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV.

A Technical School was named after the late Naa Momori which is Naa Momori Technical Institute, a public Technical School in Wa.
