The Wa High Court presided by Justice Yussif Assibi has granted 65 Year old Business Man Alhaji Inusah Abdul Rahman bail to the tune of Ghc80, 000 and three sureties.
This is according to a Joy News Report covered at the Wa High Court on the 12th of May 2022.
The Suspect was alleged involved in a shooting incident that took place on the Bamahu Road, 17th of March 2022, resulting in the Death of Two, A former Lecturer of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University, Late Stephen Mane and Administrator of Simon Diedong Dombo University, Iddrisu Alhassan.
He was on Three Previous Occasions Remanded in Either Police or Prison Custody.
Suspect was charged by The Attorney Generals Department on two counts of Murder and three counts of use of Offensive weapons.
According to the Senior Stare Attorney Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur
“An application for bail by lawyers of the accused person was served on us four days ago and we filed an affidavit in opposition, we deposed to certain facts amongst others that we do not feel that our witnesses will be safer if the accused person were to have his freedom, we also thought that the accused person was in the position to interfere with some of our witnesses but the court disagreed with us and said because of his age and because of his health, the court decided to grant him bail and that is within the court’s remit, the court can actually grant him bail and exercise discretion in his favor and admit him to bail, we opposed strongly but he was granted bail”.
Spokesperson to Family of Stephen Mane, Jonas Mane poured out the family’s concerns:
“We believe that finally finally we are not going to get Justice in this Case, the way and manner in which the case has just begun, we are not going to get Justice, we are calling on the attorney General to look into the ruling of the High Court Judge, the ruling says that the man is old, he is 61 years old, he is a business man, he is a contractor, therefore he is having money, he was slapped with Ghc80, 000, the Ghc80, 000 we believe that it can’t buy the life of our dearest father”.
