Wa: Ban on Tricycles Effective Except in One Area

Ban on Movement of Tricycles in Wa after 10pm

The Ban on Tricycles have taken effect as Directed by the Upper West Regional Police Command headed by DCOP Peter Ndekugri in order to curtail serial call offs in the Wa Municipality.

In the month of September, two Security Men have been Attacked in Wa, one was Kidnapped whilst another is Admitted at the Upper West Regional Hospital.

The Police have begun enforcement of the policy Introduced to address the security concern. Tricycles owners have been directed not to Operate after 10:00pm beginning 13th September 2022.

Checks in town has proven that the ban has taken force and police are currently on the principal streets to ensure rules are obeyed.

Police Officers in A Police Vehicle with Registration Number GP-267 were in town enforcing the ban through the Dodoo Street.

Some tricycle riders in Kambali have however stood aloof with regards to the ban, tricycles are still being used in Kambali as at 10:40pm when Upperwestmedia Team visited the area to assess conformity of tricycle users with the ban, some Bajaj tricycle users were still operating as at 10pm late in the night, 4 tricycles used the Kambali Sombo Stretch in a time space of 20 minutes.
