The Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University formerly Wa Polytechnic has graduated a total of 311 students at the institution’s 3rd Congregation Ceremony held on 7th of May 2022.
Some selected students who were outstanding in academia were issued citations by their various faculties. Best male and Female Graduating Students were also awarded with brand new laptops from GCB Bank.
The First Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Elias Sowley was officially outdoored by the Chairman of Governing Council, Chief Sulemana Nabila in the Presence of The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih and other Vice Chancellors of some Technical Universities in Ghana Present, also present was the Vice Chancellor fro SDD-UBIDS, Prof. Philip Duku Osei, Vice Chancellor of University for Development Studies(UDS), Prof. Sowley Issued a statement after graduands were officially Ushered into the Job Market, he stated 24 Teaching Staff were currently Pursuing PhD Programs, a hostel of the school awarded on contract in 2008 has been stalled since 2013 , clearance was issued to the school in 2021 to recruit and 31 staff, both teaching and Non Teaching Were Recruited Successfully, the overall staff population is currently purged at 222.
Prof. Sowley announced the introduction of B-Tech 4 Year and Two Years Top-UP Programs beginning 2022/2023 academic year.
The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih in A Statement Assured the School of Government’s Support, he also urged the school to use different approaches in admitting students rather than the regular entry requirements.
Following the Technical University Act, 2016(Act 922), the Technical University’s Amendment Act 2018(Act 974) and Technical University Act 2020(Act 1016) the School was Converted to Technical University.
