According to the director, the district could not boast of critical healthcare staff such as medical doctors, physician Assistants and a host of others needed for effective and efficient healthcare services . Dr Pascal bemoans that, such staff when posted to the district, turn down the posting over the deprived nature of the district.
While assuring the district of his commitment to lobbying for the needed critical healthcare staff to the district for quality and effective healthcare delivery, Dr. Pascal called on the government, faith-based organizations and other relevant stakeholders to expedite actions on the provision of social amenities to the district for effective healthcare system and the general wellbeing of the masses in the district.
The Health Director stressed the importance of basic amenities such as water, electricity, and good roads in the provision of healthcare services. He noted that the absence of these facilities would hinder the efforts of the staff towards providing quality healthcare services to the people.
Dr Pascal, however, appealed to the people of Kalahi and the district in its entirety to handle with care and love, the few health professionals in the district. According to him, the way the present personnel are treated will motivate their retention and others to accept posting to the district or otherwise.
