District Chief Executive(DCE) for the Wa East District of the Upper West Region, Dr. Sulaiman Ewura Mahama Kandia, has given an indication on delivering his mandate as a DCE rather than focusing on becoming a Member of Parliament for his constituency.
According to him, his preoccupation as of now is working hard to satisfy the appointing authorities by bringing the necessary development to the people of Wa East.
He said this in an answer to a question on Home Radio about his Parliamentary ambitions last Monday evening, August 15, 2022.
The DCE highlighted the many developmental projects that he has championed in the district since his assumption of office.
He revealed that through his facilitation, about 30 people from the district were employed in the security forces and other areas of the economy.
He said his vision as DCE is to raise the developmental agenda of the district to a higher level than he came to meet.
Dr. Sulaiman Mahama Kandia who has been hailed by political pundits in the region as a young hardworking and results-oriented politician, called for the support of the people to be able to do more for the district.
While admitting there is still more room for improvement, the soft-spoken politician disclosed that the Wa East district remains the place that has received the lion’s share of roads being constructed out of the entire region.
