
The Wa East Education Office Situated on the Hilla Limann Highway has been moved to Funsi in the Wa East District.
This is after the District Chief Executive, Hon Ewurah Kandiah demanded for all offices Working in the interest of the District to be situated in the District.
Few months ago, the DCE for Wa East District had advices stakeholders working in the Interest of Wa East District to Relocate it to the district Capital, Funsi.
The Wa Municipal Education Office has operated in The Wa Municipality for over 6years after several factors including poor nature of roads and road connection to the capital created inaccessibility to the District Capital.
During Rainy season, a bridge Linking Funsi and kojokperi through to Wa becomes overflooded preventing some workers from crossing to Funsi, other roads after Bulenga linking Funsi were also immotorable due to poor road connections.
Teachers in Wa East are Bedevilled when it comes to Accommodation, lack of teachers quaters for teachers to accommodate themselves compels them to stay in the Regional Capital Wa whilst teaching in the district.
An average teacher spends up to 30% of his income on fuel to school each month depriving teachers of their earnings.
Some teachers Interviewed urged Government to review the building plans government Establishes in communities to Include teacher’s bungalows in order to reduce teacher absenteeism.
Teachers should also be provided rent allowance according to some teachers.
