The timely intervention of Firefighters from the Wa Municipal Fire Station saved the entire space where discarded hospital equipment is kept from total fire destruction at the Wa Hospital in the Upper West Region.
According to a reliable source, it took the gallant Firefighters 3 minutes to arrive at the Wa Municipal Hospital after receiving the distress fire call at 09:01 hours.
The tactical Crew used 6 minutes to control the rampaging bushfire from further spread and succeeded in finally knocking it out at 0912 hours.
The bushfire started near the Administration Block on Wednesday and spread to the discarded hospital equipment dump area destroying items such as weighing scales, wheelchairs, incubators, walking aids and surrounding bushes.
