DCOP Peter Ndekugri, Upper West Regional Police Commander

The Upper West Regional Police Commander DCOP Peter Ndekugri has stated that some irate youth who besieged the Wa Police Station on the 1st of June 2022 Destroyed a state property.

He went into details that the youth destroyed a streetlight pole and broke it into pieces on the JJ Rawlings High Street.

He made these pronouncements when he was interviewed by Upper West Regional Correspondent for Multimedia Group,  Rafiq Salam at the Police Station.

“No casualties Recorded,  No injuries,  the only thing we recorded is the damaging of public property which is the streetlight,  they pulled one down and broke it into pieces and that is an issue of grave concern to the people of this country”.

On the 30th of  May 2022,   two adults were reported to Waala Traditional Council for leaking their nude videos in social media platforms.
They were flogged on 30th of May At the Wa Naa’s Palace and as a result the floggers were arrested,  this sparked agitations amongst the youth.
