A Young Lady only identified as Nafisah has expressed shock after her phone was snatched during a phone call on the Wa Poly Street.

The lady was making a call whilst heading towards a supermarket when the incident occurred at about 8pm, 8th of March 2023.

Speaking to Upperwestmedia Team, she explained that the Suspect was on a Motorbike and as he got near her she realised someone used some force to hold onto her phone and pulled it out of he hand, he screamed for help but the Suspect sped off.

She added that as at yesterday, some police officers Deployed to where she resides were not Present at the area and she believes their presence would have prevented the Suspect from Snatching her phone.

She called on the Police Service to put measures in Place in order to secure most streets Especially that of Bamahu and Wa Poly Street.

Snatching of Phones is a popular trend in the Greater Accra Region and Some Bigger Cities in Ghana but is beginning to make its way into the Wa Municipality.

Prices of smart phones have shot up due to the rate of the Dollar, one could but a good smart phone at Ghc500 but as at 2023, the least you can get an average smartphone is Ghc1,200.
