The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Officer Responsible for Wa Central, Mr. Mumuni Mohammed Tando has decried the pathetic State of Yibile Farm Road Located in the Wa Municipality.
Expressing his concerns, he noted that the road serves as a path through which foot is transported into major markets of the Upper West Region, a reason there is a need to fix it.
He called on the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih and the Member of Parliament for Wa Central, Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo to lobby in getting the roads fixed.
This is the state of Wa-Yibile road in the Upper West Region. Yibile is a farming community that contributes significantly to the food basket of the Wa Municipality and the Region at large. This is the only major road that links Yibile and the other adjoining villages to Wa town. The road therefore plays a very vital role in the livelihoods of the people as it is the only road that supports and promotes economic and social activities within that enclave.
As seen in the picture, the road recently has been washed to a near collapse by the heavy downpours, as a result, farming and other socio-economic activities are hampered drastically.
As a matter of urgency, the good people of Yibile and it’s catchment areas are therefore appealing to the government and other stakeholders especially the Reginal Minister, the Wa Municipal Chief Executive and the member of Parliament to come to their aid by causing for the road to be fixed to bring reprieve to them.
