On his part the Wa central youth organizer, Abdulai Ibrahim addressing the media indicated that, the youth wants to send a strong message to Ghanaians that they will not allow themselves to be used as agents of violence and hence the need for all party members to come together and embrace peace during and after the presidential primaries of the NDC.
“We really need peace during and after the presidential primaries and the rational behind that one is that, in case anybody emerge as the winner, we have to throw our support, our effort, everything that we can do to help that person to come to power. Why do we choose the youth, we are vulnerable when it comes to violence, this time around the Wa central youth Wing and the regional youth wing in collaboration with our chairmen, we said no, the youth of Wa central is now going to be a developmental tool not a distractive tool like people use the youth to do” he stated.

Meanwhile, the NDC’s 2016 Upper West regional campaigns Coordinator, Mr. Kale Ceaser who was part of the occasion debunked claims that the NDC’s Boot 4 Boot syndrome was not meant to occasion violence but to throw strong signals to the NPP that the NDC is ready to give them a hot chase and cede power from them.

However, Mr Ceaser says the party can no longer afford to be physically tortured by strong men of the NPP internal security come 2020 assenting that, the violence that erupted at Awayasu West Wougon during the just ended by-election exposed the NPP’s machination put in place to unleash violence on the NDC during the 2020 general election and was emphatic that the NDC will not sit aloof and be intimidated by the NPP.
