
The Upper West Regional Police Command has gotten a new Commander and a deputy Commander after Former Commander DCOP Peter Ndekugri had retired. ACP Prince Gabriel Waahu is currently the Acting Regional Police Commander.
The New Deputy Commander (ACP)/Mr. Bismark Agyapong was at Wa Naa Palace to discuss issues pertaining to the theme “combating threats of violent extremism and terrorism in Ghana, the role of the Traditional Authorities”.

The Upper West Regional Command on Friday, October 7, 2022 met Religious and Traditional leaders in the Wa Municipality at the Wa Naa’s Palace to make presentation on the theme “combating threats of violent extremism and terrorism in Ghana, the role of the Traditional Authorities” during this year’s Dumba Festival
The Deputy Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)/Mr. Bismark Agyapong gave a comprehensive lecture on violent extremism, terrorism and it’s impact on the Gross Domestic Growth of a country.
He stressed briefly on the role of Traditional Authorities and reminded Chiefs and leaders to have an open door policy to welcome and listen to their community members/subjects who may have grievances and/or information on terrorism
On behalf of the Wa Naa, Naa Kadiri expressed gratitude to the Command and urged all Opinion leaders, Sub-Chiefs and Religious leaders to maximize the opportunity and make use of the lessons derived from the presentation.
