
The Upper West Regional Police Command through its Public Relations Unit Headed by Chief Inspector Gideon Boateng, the Upper West Police PRO, in an interview on Home radio, a local radio station in the Wa municipal has denied any brutality and claims that the police are not aware of any form of abuse of power by the Anti-Robbery Unit.
He encourages civilians to report any such incidents to the regional command for further action to be taken.
The shooting incident has raised concerns and eyebrows amongst civilians .
“..It is crucial that members of the police force conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner while carrying out their duties. The public’s trust in the police force is essential for maintaining law and order in the community.
If you have been a victim of any form of abuse of power by the Anti-Robbery Unit of the Police or have any information that could be relevant to the ongoing investigation, you are encouraged to report it to the regional command. This will help to ensure that justice is served and that such incidents do not occur in the future..”
An Independent Committee is to be put together to Investigate the Shooting incident.
