Wa: Price of Local Poultry Up by 100%

Price of Local fowl breed has skyrocketed in Wa municipality, a development that begun in the beginning of August.

Traders have attributed it to cost of poultry feed and veterinary services.

A layer was initially Sold at Gh₵35 but has had it’s price shooting up to Gh₵70 in the Wa Fadama Market.

Several Buyers have expressed shock with the development with some suggesting they will resort to frozen chicken, others suggested they will contact poultry farms to buy at a lower price.

Meanwhile price of Eggs went down marginally in parts of Wa, a crate was being sold at Gh₵31 but dropped to Gh₵29 in the new pricing window.
