The Headmaster of Wa SHS who doubles as acting headmaster of Birifor SHS in Lawra Municipality has called for government’s Support to expand two of their social facilities including the Dining Hall of the School and their Assembly Hall.
“… before the WASSCE examinations ended, we were about 2,000 and that couldn’t have entered the Assembly Hall, even our current Population of about 1,500, the assembly Hall is too small for us”
He revealed the development when the 1989 badge of Students visited the School in October 2022 to donate Sports equipment valued at Gh₵9,000 to the School. The school’s dinning Hall was constructed over 40 years ago to accommodate 200 students.
The school’s Population is over 1,500, more that 7 times of it’s previously
projected capacity.
The Headmaster also bemoaned the size of the School’s Dinning Hall
“If we get an auditorium we can conveniently convert the Assembly Hall to a Second Dinning Hall so that we can divide the students into to two to use both Halls, we have the land, behind the common market, there is a vast land, just in front of the headmaster’s Bungalow, there is a mini forest, at least we have the space…”
The sports Equipment were handed over to the School by a broadcast journalist with GBC, Mr. Seyidou Bhomanjo.
