The Donation was Made to Wechiau Model JHS

Ideapath Consult in collaboration with ELFA FOUNDATION non- governmental organizations has donated sanitary pads to students of the Wechiau Girls Model JHS.

The gesture is in line with the organizations 30 DAYS SMILE PROJECT, an initiative which aimed at empowering vulnerable young girls on menstrual Hygiene and Health in the aspect of awareness creation, fighting menstrual stigma and increasing access to sanitary pads through the free pad distribution.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ideapath Consult Tahiru Lukman schooled the girls on proper use of the pads, reproductive health and also to address the issues of personal hygiene among young girls.

Mr. Tahiru Lukman bemoaned the increasing cost of sanitary and appealed to government to take lead in either granting tax waivers for the importation of sanitary or walk the talk on free pad policy.

The NGOs gave assurance of rolling out a more sustainable interventions on menstrual Hygiene and Health to address the issues of sanitary pads such as training and expanding access to sanitary pads (reusable pads).

The short ceremony included some senior staff of the Wa West District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, the Teaching Staff of the School, the Executive Director of ELFA FOUNDATION and the PTA of the school.

The organisations also donated 105 seedlings sponsored by the Environment and Resource Students Association (ERSA) of the Simon Dindong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies.

The trees was also the Organizations GREEN ENVIRONMENT project which is focused on Environmental advocating, development of woodlot and communities capacity building on Environmental governance.
