Mr. Peter Toobu(Left) Resigned to Challenge Joseph Yieleh Chireh(Right) in the Primaries

The Executive Secretary of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo has retired voluntarily from the Police Service to contest as parliamentary candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Wa West Constituency of the Upper West Region .

MyNewsGh gathered from sources with the Police Service that the tough-talking police officer recently opted to lay down his uniform and venture into politics and will be contesting with Hon Joseph Yiele Chireh who is the incumbent lawmaker for the area and a former Minister of Local Government.

He will also be among 46 people who have picked up nomination forms to contest in the parliamentary primaries in all the eleven constituencies of the Upper West region.
Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo is fondly remembered for his infamous presentation on corruption within the police service and how the public perceives personnel of the service which went viral on various social media platforms.
Meanwhile, the Police Service  confirmed granting his request and wished him Godspeed in his chosen career in politics.
