Poor infrastructure of Pasɛ Basic School is affecting academic activities of the school, residents of Pase in the Wa West District have said.
The school, which currently grades up to Junior High School (JHS) 3 has only three classrooms for Kindergarten to the Junior High.
Speaking to Info Radio at Pasɛ after a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, the PTA Chairman of the school, Soyiri Angbamaala Kwame said the whole of the primary classes are operating under trees due to lack of enough classrooms.
He said they have taken several steps on the matter but haven’t seen any results.
He said the school does not also have a feeding program which is affecting the morale of the learners.
He said they used to feed them from proceeds of a farm they established but said they could not continue it this year because of the high cost of farm inputs.
Madam Safia Mane, a parent, called on government to provide more infrastructure while Deongnuba Kantanye, another parent, said the poor floor of the classrooms is affecting the learning of the children.
