
Some unknown individuals have reportedly destroyed a yam farm in Tendoma, a farming community in the Wa West District of the Upper West region.
The farm, which has nearly 1000 yam mounds had several yam seedlings cut off with a cutlass.
According to reports, over 20 to 30 yam seedlings were hacked away by the culprits.
Meanwhile, the owner of the farm Mr. Kuusopuo Bakaar, opin that, he had several confrontations with some Fulani herdsmen over the same farm amidst numerous threats since January 2023.
These altercations nearly resulted in being butchered by the Fulani men who entered his farm with their cattle and he has since reported the case to the Nahaa Naa.
However, when he returned to his farm on Wednesday, 20th April 2023, he discovered that some of his yam seedlings had been cut off by unknown criminals. He, therefore, cautioned against such acts and states that anyone caught will face the full punishment of the law.
