A Middle Aged Woman and a Resident of Mangu in the Wa Municipality by name Agnes Badeu has been sentenced to 1 day in prison with a fine of 300 penalty units for Manslaughter by the Wa High Court.

the Incident Occured in 2021 during a heated argument between herself and a second party which is her husband, in the process, the victim of Manslaughter tried preventing Agnes from using a fufu pounding Pistil on her husband and this resulted in Agnes Using the pistil on the deceased, a friend of her husband.

Briefing from the Wa High Court

“Agnes has served a one Day Jail Term after her case was presided over by the Wa High Court Recently, 2023, she was charged after the 1 day sentence and will pay a fine of 300 Penalty Units which is 3,600 cedis”.

“Penalty unit” refers to such units established by the Fines (Penalty Units) Act 2000 (Act 572). The monetary value of a penalty unit stands at GH¢12.00.
