A group of young men within Wa Municipality were chased away by soldiers after they were spotted flaunting the social distancing directive by the president.

The young men including observers at the grounds of Tendamba JHS had to run to safety after the men in uniform chased after them with canes. Some went into hiding leaving their motorbikes behind, the men in uniform carried the over 8 motorbikes away.

This was after they were reported to have gone against the social distancing directive still being enforced to ease the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

Upper west has recorded 22 cases with one death.
