A former District Director of National Commission for Civic Education in the Wa East District Mr. Paul Y. Badii has admonished the Chief and peoples of Owlo Community to avoid been self-serving and rather focus on the collective good of their community.
He expressed worry as to the growing petty demand some people make from their MPs and Politicians. Asking for money for naming ceremonies, funerals, to buy Pito and among others demands, compels Politicians to focus on winning individuals to the detriment of the collective impact of the community.
He believes if local communities demand to address their community’s felt needs, MPs will shift from winning individual’s solidarity and support to communities at large giving project Interventions.
He made this call during a durbar of the Chief and people of Owle Community organised by the Daffiama Bussie Issa District Directorate of NCCE in the Upper West Region of Ghana. It was held on the 30th March, 2021 at the Owlo community Market Square. The participants include community members, the CEO of Ideapath Consult (Mr. Tahiru Lukman), the DBI District Director of NCCE (Mr. Abdul Rahaman Osman), and some core staff members.
