
The Former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Mr Amidu Chinnia has discouraged graduands of Dr. Hilla Liman Technical University from seeking public sector jobs as the only source of survival.
Speaking at the 2nd congregation held on 24th of April 2021, he sited instances where developed countries such as China, USA and England had discovered the private sector as more lucrative and embraced it, explaining the capitalist system, the Deputy Minister Designate for Water and Sanitation told students to work more on the practical aspect of their certificate to earn returns rather than exaggerating their relevance.
He gave an overall best Male student of the Secretaryship and Management Studies Department, Mornah Rockson an amount of Ghc1, 000.
He also gave the Overall graduating Student an Amount of Ghc1, 000 for graduating with a CGPA of 4.70
Citations were also issued to the overall best students of the University.
The Institution currently runs 14 HND Programs. The Polytechnic was converted to Technical University through the Technical(Amendment) Act 2020(Act 1016).
Process for Accreditation has started to introduce other new courses:
1. Cosmetology
2.Banking and Finance
3.Catering, Hotel and Institutional Management
4.Bachelor of Technology Programmes
