Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri, Municipal Chief Executive for Jirapa has disclosed that an estimated 515 persons in the Jirapa Municipality are living with HIV/AIDS .

He therefore cautioned the people of Jirapa to take their personal safety seriously especially during this festive season.

Making the revelation in his maiden “Christmas and New Year Message” to the people of Jirapa, the MCE on Friday December 24, 2021, Honourable Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri said “HIV/AIDS is real. An estimated 515 persons are currently living with HIV in the Municipality, made up of 165 males, 295 females and
55 children”.

“Similarly, 31 persons; 5 males, 15 females and 11 children got infected with HIV/AIDS last year [2020]” he added.
