Wa Municipality is one of the fastest developing regional capitals and municipalities in the Country.
With an estimated population of over 200,000, more than 2 Municipalities, the regional capital has some sections that are developing faster than others.

1. Bamahu Residential Area: We all have a fair believe of this based on what is sited there, a University. The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies has attracted several investors to the area. More people have constructed hostels there with other sceneries such as Fanco, Blue Hill, Sem B Lodge, the Area has also attracted some fast food joints and Fuel Stations in the past 4 Years.

2. Kpongu Residential Area/Street: One of the area people are rushing to site their buildings, lots of hostels being built, lots of hotels and fuel Stations, a supermarket is being built within and guess what, there is a Technical University there, The Dr. Hilla Liman Technical University is attracting some more investors there, the closeness of the Town to Bamahu has also engineered the increasing demand for the area. Not forgetting the Military Barracks for Security and Nurses Hostel.

3. Nakore Residential Area: Another area that attracted more attention lately, the Timber market is to be situated in the area, A Shea Nut Factory is also to be sited there, some private basic Schools are also within the area and as a result most people have opted for the area.

4. Airport/Loho Road: This are has attracted lots of investments due to the Regional Hospital and the Airport, a Senior High School, Jamiat SHS is also within the area and some people believe the students will patronized services of people, others have sited health centers and over the counter shops close to the Hospital and will prefer to stay close to thier businesses.

5. Sombo Residential Area: This area is close to the Wa West District of Upper West Region, some private and public institutions are located in this area including the Waec office, the Lands Commission and Residence of the Minister, others also believe with time a College of Distance Education for UCC will be built there to attract investments.

All these areas have attracted lots of investments including buildings for accommodation and trading.
