
On 18th January 2022, a Toyota Fortuner crushed a man to death after eluding traffic on the Wa Dodoo Street, the Retired Headmaster of Piina SHS according to eyewitnesses was on top speed and lost control.
The Police have begun Investigations and have since released the following Report.
Police Report
On Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at about 3:00pm, Suspect rider Major Kwesi Salia retired, aged 63 years was riding an Apsonic 125 motorbike with registration number M-17-BA 4380 from NIB direction towards Tendamba direction.
On reaching a section of the road at the main traffic light, the traffic light was red hence, he stopped and Suspect driver Osman Namba also driving a Toyota Fortuner with registration number Gw 977-14 on same direction failed to stop and crashed the suspect rider from behind and dragged the accident motorbike and further crashed head on with a stationary KIA Rhino that was parked at the near side edge of the road.
The Suspect rider now deceased sustained various degrees of injuries and was rushed to the Wa Municipal Hospital, but was confirmed dead by Dr. Alhassan.
The body has since been deposited at same Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Meanwhile, personnel at Regional MTTD-Wa have commenced a comprehensive investigation into the accident to unravel the true reflection of issues.
The Police therefore urged the general public to continue to observe all Road Safety Regulations to minimize the occurrence of such accidents.”
