Bakers within the Wa Municipality are on strike Since early hours of 8th February 2022 to protest against high cost of baking materials within the town.

The Development has resulted in shortage of bread hitting the town. A loaf of tea Bread is sold at Ghc3,  the new price was arrived at after price of bread floor shot up in the first quarter of 2021. Other loaves that sold at Ghc5,  6 and Ghc7  have also shot up to Ghc 6,  7 and 8 Respectively.

All the Bakery Points within the town have since been closed down till further notice in order to agitate against the increase in price of bread floor.

The Situation is being monitored closely.
