The Overlord of the Waala Traditional area, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV has directed Bakers to return to work after broader consultation in his Palace.

The Bakers were invited for a dialogue and as a result,  the development was arrived at, the Overlord,  Naa Fuseini Pelpuo told the bakers to return to duty beginning Friday 11th February 2022. He continued that price of bread can be increased in order not to encure losses as a result of maintaining prices. This development was confirmed by the Secretary to the Overlord,  Jimpenhi Naa Kadri,  who spoke to Upper West Media Team.

Some bakers have affirmed the ambiguous increase in price of bread floor within the municipality,  they said the price has been purged at Ghc300 which is 50% increment in 2 Months.

Price of bread increased from Ghc2 to Ghc3 in May 2021,  50% increment in 4 Years as at 2021. Bakers in Wa have been on strike since 8th February 2021.
