Fire has consumed a building,  housing workers and equipment belonging to Mawums Construction Ltd.
Mawums construction Ltd is a constructing company working on Bolga – Tumu Road.

This incident occurred on February 13th, 2022 at about 2050hrs in Piina a farming community in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region.

The personnel from the Sissala East Municipal fire Service were called to contain the situation but the deplorable nature of road could not allow them reach in time.

A tanker containing about 4000 liters of fuel was however saved by the intervention of the fire fighters.
No life was lost nor injuries recorded though properties worth thousands of hundred Ghana cedis were consumed by the inferno.

Officers of the NADMO visited the affected site had their assessment of extent of damage not made known to the public yet.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, investigations are however underway.
