
The Chiefs of the Gandawii Traditional Area have reminded President Akufo Addo that there is a serious need for a Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET) school to be established in the Sissala West constituency.
The reminder was served through the Upper West regional minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih to the President.
Delivery a speech on behalf of the Chiefs and also making his maiden appearance speech at the 11th edition of the Gandawii Naabahilime Festival on February 26, 2022 at the Sorbelle basic school, Kuoru Osman Dewia Nankpa III has told the minister that “we wish to appeal through you to the President of the republic to kindly take action on the request I made to him during my visit to him at the Presidency, the need to establish a Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET) school”, Kuoru Osman Deiwia Nankpa III has said.
Also, emphasizing on the importance of TVET education, Kuoru Osman Dewia Nankpa III has said the theme: “harnessing the full potential of the youth: the role of science, technology and vocational education”, chosen to celebrate this year’s festival was apt given that TVET education is currently “the major driver of economies across the world, hence the need to encourage the involvement of our youth cannot be over emphasized”.
The Gandawii Traditional Area is composed of nine communities including Pulima, Sorbelle, Silbelle, Kupulima, Ligmiera, Buoti, Kandia, Gbarima and Jitong.
