
The people of Dasima have outdoored their new divisional chief, Kuoro Nmasi Huaru Batong Barson Ⅵ in a short ceremony at the community.
Welcoming the large crowd to the event, Mr Henry Barson, a brother to the newly enskinned Chief read a welcome address stating challenges confronting the community as among others:
“The nature of our road alone is enough deterrent to potential investors and tourists, we are therefore appealing to the authorities to as a matter of urgency consider providing the area with an alternative route to Dasima and construct a road from Dasima to Kojokpere as a way of opening the area to tourist sites since they are close to the Gbele resource reserve which is very rich in flora and fauna”.
Another road from Dasima to Jijen and Sentie he said, would enhance socio-economic and cultural integration among these sister communities.
Whilst thanking the government for considering the area for the One Village One Dam policy, he said that construction work on the dam is incomplete as such water trapped within the dam does not last long in the dry season and this affects the domestic animals being reared as they struggle to get water.
Kuoro Nmasi Huaru Batong Barson who was appreciative of the confidence reposed on him by the elders of the community, reminded all that no community can develop under the state of indiscipline and anarchy, and has called on the youth and all to accept discipline.
He has also asked the community to protect the environment as climate change is a reality.
The member of parliament for Sissala West who was represented by Mr. Ali Abass Baatah has called for continuous unity among the people and praised the people for the peace being enjoyed in the area.
Kuoro Kuri Buktie Liman Ⅳ, the Paramount Chief of the Gwollu Traditional Area who inducted Chief inspector Joseph Batong Barson now Nmasi Huaru Batong Barson Ⅵ, has praised the elders of Dasima for portraying a true sense of maturity and respect for the chieftaincy system, and has cautioned the enskinned chief to pay allegiance and loyalty to his people.
