
The Sissala East Municipal Assembly has Elected it’s new Presiding Member today 6th April 2022 after a failed attempt in March 2022.
In the first round of the elections held in March, Mr Doho polled 17 votes as against 12 by Mr Mumuni, out of a total of 31 votes with two spoilt ballots.
In the second round, Doho Sumaila polled 23 Votes equivalent to 69% above two-thirds of the house of Assembly Members totaling 32.

Doho validly elected presiding member for a second term
According to the Local Government Act 936 of 2016, the Presiding Member shall hold office for a term of two years and is eligible for reelection subject to sub-section (6) of the same Act.
