
Han Senior High School located in Jirapa of the Upper West Region is still struggling with its enrollment figures after years of its existence as well as other major challenges facing the school.
Sources within the school have disclosed to the voice of Jirapa, Gangaa FM that the school which runs two approved courses: General Arts and Home Economics but wanted to add business program this academic year has its current students dwindling.The total school population currently is less than 20 students.
It was also disclosed that the situation was created as a result of many students rejecting their offer of placement into the school.
The few students in the school however said academic work is effective even though lack of decent accommodation and feeding were some other major challenges they are battling with .
The Jirapa Municipal Assembly headed by the Municipal Chief Executive Honorable Nicholas Soyir, Jirapa Municipal Education Directorate headed by Madam Agnes Mwaawaaru, The Chiefs and People of Han and all stakeholders must intervene to address these challenges or Han SHS sooner or later can be deleted from the names of the few Senior High Schools in Jirapa Municipality.
