The Upper West Regional Police Command through its public relations office headed by Chief Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng has cautioned the General Public on Safety Precautions they should observing during the Easter Festivities.
Easter is on 17th of April 2022 to mark the day Christ arose from death.
The laid down Cautions are below:
The Upper West Regional Police Command is hereby informing the
general public that during festive seasons, MISCREANTS adopt
several means or Modus Operandi to acquire wealth.
2. The Command is therefore entreating the Public to be Security
Conscious and also to be abreast with certain security protocols in order not to fall Victims.
3. The Command urges Mobile Money vendors to be alert and vigilant in
their areas of operation hence, it is advised they close their operations
before night falls.
4. Drivers are reminded of the Free Escort Regime by the Regional Police
Command to avert criminal activities of miscreants.
5. Individuals are advised to desist from moving around in town at
nights, mostly during odd hours to avoid being taken hostage.
6. Do not hang a notice of your movements on your walls/doors.
7. Switch off all lights inside your rooms and make sure all lights outside
the building are on before you go to bed.
8. The Command is also developing a comprehensive strategy to
minimize the snatching of bags and pilfering of motorbikes in the
Region, most especially within the Wa Municipality. Users of
motorbikes should desist moving at wee hours to avoid any sort of
attack by miscreants.
9. Locate the nearest Police Station to your Residence and take the
Telephone number.
10. Never stay outside and arrive at your residence late in the night
11. Check cars parked around your Residence and if possible, take the
Registration numbers.
12. Install car alarm, steer lock and ensure that car glasses are rolled
up and locked at all timeS.
13. Items like lab tops, bags, cameras, cell phones etc. must not be put
on the seats or in the boot,
14. AIways park your car closer to a security.
15. Never offer a litt to people you do not know. Being male or female.
16. Fix Burglar Prove on all Doors and Windows of your buildings.
17.You may install CCTV.
18. It is ADVISED that, the public observe the COVID 19 pandemic
protocols. Stay safe stay alive.
