A Journalist by name Sungumo Dauda with Puopeli FM within the Wa Municipality has been ordered by the Upper Regional Police Command to avail himself for questioning.

The Journalist Alleged that the Upper West Regional Police Command Usually leaves suspected criminals off the hook when they are brought the command for investigation and prosecution.

He sighted instances where he brought a suspect to the Regional Crime Officer Chief Superintendent Reynold Manteaw for Investigation and prosecution later to detect that the Suspect was freed.

“I just can understand why u are offended by my statement?don’t you use air condition in your office?your purpose in this region is to fight crime and nothing else.U can’t be more than criticism,but for your information I personally arrested a man with drugs handed him over to the police and he was freed without consulting FDA.I do alot to help police fight crime.“

Meanwhile the Regional Police PRO, Chief Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng had countered his statement labelling the Journalist’s statements as mere allegations without facts.

“My brother
This is a serious allegation you are levelling again, against the Regional Police Command.
I believe that is why you keep on attacking the Regional Police Command.
The Command will not sit on this allegation.
Build your facts well because you have to extablish same”.

Sungumo Dauda Tagged Some Officers Under the Command are Counterproductive

“I don’t know if allegation or not, what I know is that I arrested someone and the person let go.I never attacked commander and I will never do so because I know he is hard working, but some officers the least said about them the better.”

The Regional Police Command through the Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng has since Summoned Mr. Sungumo Dauda for Interrogation.

“Good.
You made this serious allegation against the Regional Police Command.
Kindly report yourself to the Regional Police Crime Officer today, Tuesday, April 19,2022 in his Office at 2:00 pm with all your evidence to substenciate your claim, please.
The Command deems it right to a certain the truth of the allegation levelled.”
