An Islamic Scholar within the Wa Municipality has Advocated against men using spiritual means or charms to manipulate women for their ‘selfish’ interests.

In a conversation on Mydeen Program, he explained in Waali, a popular dielet in wa:

“When you meet a woman you have interest in, and she keeps resisting,you don’t need to use ‘Ankedi’ or Padlock to manipulate Her, what I mean is writing kefu kefa into a padlock Or using an animal tail with needles to control her spiritually, you are only bringing a devil home to kill you, you’re begging for danger”.

Some youth group in Wa and neighboring communities resort to charms in order to lure girls and sleep with them.
