The Chairman of Jirapa Constituency Elections Committee for New Patriotic Party,  Mr. Aziz Gado has advocated for party members to be united and formidable even after the internal elections set to be held on the 30th of April 2022.

“Hopefully the Vetting,  Balloting have been successful without grudges,  I’ll thank contestants for their understanding and cooperation,  going forward lets work together and ensure this election is without misunderstanding I’m order for us to snatch the seat for Jirapa from the National Democratic Congress(NDC”

He revealed this to Marcelinus Mwinsagra of Gangaa FM in an Interview at FMM hall in Jirapa Municipality.

The New Patriotic party has never won the seat of Jirapa since the district was established.

Its first MP was part of the National Convention Party in 1992 by name Issah Alhassan, the Second MP for the Area was Francis Gyafiiry Korbieh in 1996 a member of the NDC, Third MP,  Edward Salia from 2000 to 2009(NDC),  Fourth Member of Parliament,  Francis Bawaana Dakurah(2009-2012)(NDC),  Fifth Member of Parliament,  Paul Derigubaa(2012-2016),  Sixth Member of Parliament, Francis Bawaana Dakurah(2016-2020)(NDC),  Current MP,  Cletys Seidu Dapilah(2020-2024)(NDC).

Only one person aspiring to be youth organizer was disqualified due his age.
