Motorbikes Donated to Military

The National Security Ministry of Ghana has donated three (3) brand new pickups and fourty five (45) Apsonic motor bikes from its budgetary allocation to retool the officers of the Ghana Police service,Ghana Immigration Service and the Ghana Armed forces in the Upper West Region.

The donation exercise was graced at the forecourt of the Upper West Regional Coordination Council in the regions’ capital.

The vehicles were presented by the National Security Minister, Hon. Albert  Kan Dapaah to the three security agencies on Friday October 22, 2022.

The National Security Minister indicated that, the biggest duty of government is not just to provide public services to its citizenry but to provide security. “Among all the services that government provides, security is the most important because without security, you can not enjoy the other public services “.

He stated that, Ghana is the most peaceful country in the sub region and the second most peaceful and secured country in the whole of Africa.

Hon. Kan Dapaah attributed this assession to the commitment and efficiency of the security agencies in the country.

He stressed that, the work of the security agencies over the years has made Ghana a hub for investors and serene for businesses to operate without fear.

Hon. Kan Dapaah cautioned the security agencies not to hold to the past but focus on the future going forward.

Commenting on the recent murder cases within the Wa Municipality, the Minister stated “Am very proud that today things have calmed down and we are actively looking forward to coming out with the names of people who were responsible for the various criminal activities that did take place. We may not be able to stop the criminal activities, but we should be able to find out exactly what happened and who did what”.

He added that, the donation made is aimed at complementing the efforts of the ministry of Defence and Interior in further equipping the security agencies to be able to maintain peace and security at all times within the country.

Meanwhile, Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, thanked the National Security Minister and the ministry for the timely donation adding that, it would further enhance the investigation and intelligence gathering of the security agencies in unravelling the mysterious murder cases that was recorded within the Upper West Region recently.

“I am hopeful that sooner than later that we will close in on the perpetrators of those wicked acts in Wa township and Upper West will take it rightful place as the most peaceful region in Ghana”.

Expressing appreciation on behalf of the three security agencies, General Officer Commanding, Northern  Sector Coordinator of the Ghana Armed forces, Brigadier General Mattew Essien, applauded the National Security Minister for the kind gesture and assured the ministry that the vehicles presented to them will be put into judicious use.
