The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo has visit his contenders in the Just Ended Parliamentary Primaries held on 13th of May 2023.

He Visited Alhaji Hudu Mogtari at his Residence in Kpaguri before he proceeded to Visit Lawyer Mutui-Rahman together with some Sympathizers of the Pelpuo Project.

He was in the Race with Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, Lawyer Abubakari Mutui-Rahman and Lawyer Wahid Bampuori.

The Elections were held at Wa Technical Institute and polls ended at 5pm on Saturday. Results were collated and Declared by the Electoral Commission and in the Process, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo was retained with 871 votes as Declared by an Election Officer. Lawyer Mutui-Rahman polled 91 votes, Lawyer Wahid Bampuori polled 104 whilst Alhaji Hudu Mogtari polled 708 votes, Rejected votes were 13 making a total of 1787.

Dr. Pelpuo has served for 19 years in Parliament and will be going for another 4 years if he wins In the December 7th General Elections. He is a Professional Teacher and Principal of Issa Youth Leadership Training Institute, a TVET school Managed by the National Youth Authority (NYA).

Wa Central Constituency has a Population of 200,672 based on the 2021 Population and housing Census, several people have called for the constituency to be divided into two by the electoral commission.
