Some Retailers of Cement in Wa Municipality have reduced prices by a significant margin since Wednesday 24th May 2023.

Checks at Alhaji Techiman Enterprise in Wa Revealed that prices of SOL, Safe and Diamond Cement were Ghc88, Down by Ghc6.

Cement was sold at Ghc94 at Alhaji Techiman’s Shop in Kambali but according to him, the dollar has lost value to the cedi and as a Result it has affected prices positively, Management added that Incase the dollar drops in Value, prices will go down further, he also added that demand is another factor they consider, if demand goes up prices follow demand.

Currently, the dollar is hovering around Gh11.4 to one Dollar.

The Constitution industry in Upper West Region is growing and every builder has cement as their main priority when it comes to building, some resorted to bricks moulded in Gbanko by Hon. Simon Mwinpuo, Assembly Member of the Area but later complained of the Price.

A piece of brick was being sold at Ghc3 at the Gbanko Bricks Factory.

Several stakeholders have advocated for businesses to reduce prices of goods and services blaming the slow nature of the market on Artificial Inflammation in the Upper West Region.

Goods and Services are much cheaper in Sawla, Tuna, Damongo, Tamale, Bole than in Parts of Upper West Region.
