Residents of Nadowli Township and Neighboring Communities have assembled to Today 20th September 2023 to Demonstrate Over Poor Health Care Services and Attitude of Some Major Staff in the Hospital.

The Demonstrators were Accompanied by the Police through the Principal Streets of Nadowli.

Some Demonstrators with wooden boards also known as Slates drafted some messages including Demanding for the Release of the Hospital’s Administrator “Admin Must Go”, some Others Demanded for Salaries of Casual Workers to be Paid, Others Demanded for the Hospital to put a stop to sale of Donated Blood to the Facility “Stop the Sale of Blood Donated to the Facility”.

Furthermore, Some Messages Also Spotted by Upper West Media Team cautioned Staff of the Facility to be United whilst another Message Questioned why contracts sums are being inflated in the health facility, “Why Contract Sum Inflation??”

To added to that, another Person’s message cautioned that Women and Children are Dying “Women and Children are Dying”.

The Demonstrators are calling for the Regional Director of Ghana Heath Services, Dr. Damian Punguyire to Attend to the Concerns.

The Nadowli District Hospital is one of the Oldest Hospitals in the Upper West Region. Nadowli District Hospital started as an Urban Health Centre in 1987 before It was upgraded to its current state.

In August 2023, A cross-section of Residents in the Nadowli/Kaleo district had expressed concerns regarding the dwindling fortunes of the the Nadowli/Kaleo district hospital which was once touted as the ‘Korle Bu’ hospital in the Upper West Region.
