The Dumba Festival Celebrated by People of Wa and other Traditional Areas within the North of Ghana is set to begin from 28th if October 2023 to 4th of October 2023.

The climax will have participating Traditional men undertaking ‘Mui Tuunhibu’ which is Picking of Rice including other cultural dance practices.

On Tuesday, 3rd of October 2023, The Overlord of Waala Traditional Area shall jump over a life cow in the presence of some traditional authorities and sympathizers.

This symbolizes a new down and a sign of good fortune for the Royal household if the overload goes through successfully, if he doesn’t, it Means he wouldn’t live to see the next Dumba festivities.

A Farewell program shall be held on the 4th of October 2023, to mark end of Dumba Festival in 2023.

People of Waala Traditional Area migrated from Nalerigu and Neighboring Areas within that Traditional Setting to the Wa Municipality over 2 Centuries Ago.
