
The people of Ping, a Community Located in the Jirapa Municipality of the upper west region have received their share of infrastructural benefits from ‘Impact Next Generation’ a Non-governmental organization of USA.
Ping Basic School was the 12th badge and first school in the Upper West region which benefited from the organization. A donation of over 153 furniture to the Ping Basic school which will go a long way to salvage a total of 250 pupils from sitting on the bare floor during teaching and learning activities.
The brain behind tapping this support was the Chairman of the coalition of concern teachers (CCT) Hon. Vitalis N-yekabong.
He confirmed in his statement that, paid a visit to a colleague teacher at the Ping Primary school to realized that the pupils were without tables and chairs as they are always lying on the bare ground writing during teaching and learning.
“….. It was a wide situation to me on how to help these pupils out of such educational suffering. l met my colleague friend in the University Mr. Ibrahim Suraj which is the country manager for Impact Next Generation. l appealed by asking him if he can support me on the situation of these school children l saw at Ping Basic school….” he said.
Fortunately his university friend Mr. Ibrahim Suraj happened to be the country manager for lmpact Next Generation. Mr. Suraj hearing his plea did not hesitate, he linked him to the organization
Hon. Vitalis was grateful for the support from impact next generation and is hopeful that, the organization will continue to help other communities in the Jirapa Municipality.
In the function was the Jirapa Municipal Director of Education Mr. Abdulkaadi Huudu Kunaatey who received the furniture. He appreciated Impact Next Generation expressed his gratitude to the director, country manager of Impact Next Generation and Hon Vitalis for their support to the Municipality. He appealed to the organization not to stop their kind support but extend it to other schools which are also under such circumstance, he appeal to the organization to help the directorate with computer laboratories especially At Augustine’s JHS and Presentation JHS which have received computers from Getfund but do not have the structures to put them to good use.
He appealed to the Director of impact next generation Dr. Theophilus Boafo Yirenkyi and Mr. Kobina Amoako Atta to consider establishing an office in the Jirapa municipal in order for more communities to benefit from it.
