Some Canoe Paddlers have generated over Ghc6,000 Daily from Carrying passengers From of Section of the Road to The Other.

A Passenger onboard a canoe is charged Ghc10 before he or she is taken Across, A boat can take up to 5 Passengers at a go and charge luggages separately from people.

A paddler according to reliable Sources with Doli in the Savannah Region revealed that a paddler is able to make averagely Ghc6,000 Daily and it’s becoming a lucrative venture since the bridge collapsed on the 17th of September 2023.

Travelers from Kumasi, Techiman, Wenchi, Wa, Nandom, Tumu and Neighboring Areas have to resort to the Damongo -Junction Stretch to get to their destinations.

Lorry Fares have increased as a result of the road block, with Wa to Kumasi Fares fixed at Ghc200 away from Ghc140.

The Roads Minister, Mr. Amoako Atta toured the area on the 18th of September and minor works begun on the bridge, it has partly been fixed as at Thursday 28th of September 2023.
