The Wa Circuit Court Headed by his Lordship Jonathan Avogo has Sentenced Rashid Ahmed Popularly Known as Anaata to 22 Years in Prison to be served concurrently, he is to serve the 22 years after being found guilty of Defiling Underaged Girls numbering 13 in the Upper West Region.

Based on dockets weighed up, he was Sentenced on Several counts before the final Judgement was made.

The local master of ceremonies (MC) was found guilty of having sex with seven minors (girls) contrary to section 101 of the Criminal Offenses Act, Act 29.

Count 1 – 8 Years
Count  2 – 7 Years
Count 3 – 7 Years
Count 4 – 7 Years
Count 5 – 7 Years
Count 6 – 7 Years

The Case was pursued by Chief Executive Officer of BAHASS Foundation’s CEO, Mr. Yussif Baba who pledged to fight in the interest of the girl child.

According to Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur Principal State Attorney, The Decision by Wa Circuit Court will serve as a deterrent to others in order to reshape the society.

The State Attorney Also Explained that the Use of Spiritual methods to obstruct Justice isn’t a promising way to stop the law for serving justice.

“…we should be grateful to Yussif Baba and the parents who allowed their children to come out and testify, the girls were more than 17 and only 9 parents allowed their children, we are grateful for allowing them to come out and testify, the Republic of Ghana is forever grateful to anybody who is interested in fighting crime..”
