Dumba Festivities Ended on the 4th of October 2023, a one week occasion that begun on the 28th of September 2023.

Special Guest of Honor was President Akufo-Addo but he couldn’t make it and was represented by the Interior Minister, Lawyer Ambrose Dery.

According to Sources, the Reason why the president was absent Wa stye fact that he travelled out of the country for international Duties.

According to the Interior Minister, Lawyer Ambrose Dery:
Today, I represented the President of the Republic of Ghana, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the climax of the 2023 Dumba Festival by the Waala Traditional Council. I conveyed the fraternal greetings from the President and reiterated the support of his government towards the development of our region.

I was accompanied by the Upper West Regional Minister, Government Appointees, Regional and other Party Executives.

Dumba is celebrated by people of Wa and other parts of the north, during the occasion, it’s mandatory for the Overlord to jump over a life cow to mark a good omen for the next Dumba festivities.
