The Principal State Attorney in charge of Upper West Region, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur has disapproved and condemned the use of pots, talismans and other spiritual processes to frustrate legal proceedings in court.

He noted that such methods of defense are superstitious and cannot be relied on in legal Issues. He urged people to seek the assistance of Lawyers rather than resorting to such processes.

Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur made the statements on the 3rd of October 2023 after Rashid Ahmed Also Known as Anaata was Sentenced to 22 Years in Prison for Defiling underaged girls in some parts of the Upper West Region.

“..The talisman and the many pots they buried around my house, this one didn’t come to the press but they buried a pot in my house, the buried a pot in the judges house, all these are for fun, we don’t believe in Pots, eggs in court, they cannot defend anybody, anybody who deceives you isn’t helping, you better look for something else pots and eggs are not lawyers..”

On 11th of September 2023, Some items including a white cloth and 3 Eggs were Dropped at Kunta in a bid to influence the final outcome of Legal proceedings with regards to Rashid Ahmed’s Defilement Case. Some Names were spotted on a white cloth attached to the eggs, these names were Yussif Baba (BAHASS), Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur and Umar Kunateh (Asprilla).
